PortCity to Introduce New Transload Solution on the Port of Wilmington’s Container Terminal

Wilmington, N.C. – PortCity will introduce a new transload solution on the Port of Wilmington’s Container Terminal.
This new transload operation will be adjacent to the Port’s container berths and Neo-Panamax Cranes. One of the key benefits of this new service is the substantial efficiencies it will provide to customers.

NC Ports will provide PortCity with the space for the transload operation with additional flex space available.
The PortCity team will use this space while they continue to make progress on the company’s near-port facility. PortCity will be investing $25 million in a new facility on Raleigh Street less than a mile away from the Port of Wilmington’s container terminal. This facility will add approximately 150,000 square feet of cross-dock warehouse space to the Wilmington market and create 75 new jobs.
North Carolina is home to major industries, such as textiles and apparel, retail and home goods, furniture, hardware, agriculture, pulp and paper, steel, and more, making PortCity’s presence in Wilmington a crucial part of serving these markets.
