Developers bought 187 acres on U.S. 421 in Wilmington on Wednesday for a major expansion of one of their existing industrial projects.
Edgewater Ventures, a commercial real estate investment company, purchased the property next to Wilmington Trade Center for $7.65 million from Invista.

WILMINGTON, N.C. (WECT) - Brunswick County is back in the Wilmington Metropolitan Statistical Area (MSA), according to the new MSA list released last Friday by the Office of Management and Budget.
After the 2010 census, Brunswick County was removed from the Wilmington MSA and place in the Myrtle Beach-Conway-North Myrtle Beach MSA.
Since that decision, Sen. Richard Burr has made several attempts to have Brunswick County added back in the Wilmington MSA.

RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK – The Raleigh-Cary metro area ranks No. 3 – just behind its rival Austin, Tx. – and Wilmington comes in at No. 7 in the widely followed Milken Institute’s annual Best Performing Cities report.
